Tarida is a master candidate in Business Information Systems with experience in business development, market research, data analytics and project management in both the public and private sector.
Upon successful completion of her CBE Internship with F1 Solutions Australia, she has been offered a role with the team. Angela is known as a hard worker who goes above and beyond in what she does and has most recently won the ANU CBE Outstanding Intern of the Year Prize in Semester 1, 2020.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned during your internship?
My internship at F1 Solutions Australia has helped me in various ways, particularly in developing my network and self-resilience. As an intern, I learned how essential networking is for my career aspiration. Connecting with professionals in my desired career path through my internship has led me to strengthen my desire to work in the intersection of business and technology. Furthermore, I now have mentors to turn to when I have questions about the field of my work.
Undertaking an internship during COVID-19 has somehow helped me become more resilient. The pain during this pandemic is undoubtedly real for everyone, but I learned to adapt to adversity and developed coping strategies.
What piece of advice would you give to current students embarking on an internship job or search?
There is a saying that goes: 'be clear on what you want, why you want it and what qualifies you', which has always puzzled me. How can you figure this out? For me, I think it’s to make the most out of every opportunity to know yourself better. Read more, learn more, consult more (seek CBE Careers' assistance! I came to them a bunch of times), network more, and of course, ask more wisely.
