Actuarial Statistics

  1. STAT6013 Principles of Mathematical Statistics for Actuarial Studies
  2. STAT6014 Regression Modelling for Actuarial Studies
  3. STAT6046 Financial Mathematics
  4. FINM7006 Applied Foundations of Finance

*Any student who does not have sufficient mathematics must commence in Semester 2 to enrol MATH1113 Mathematical Foundations for Actuarial Studies.

Actuarial Studies

Assuming a student who meets the pre-requisite courses for the following:

  1. ACST8040 Actuarial Control Cycle 1
  2. FINM7003 Continuous Time Finance
  3. STAT8035 Risk Theory

and one course from

Statistics

  1. STAT6038 Regression Modelling
  2. STAT6039 Principles of Mathematical Statistics

and two courses from

  • EMET8005 Economic Models and Introductory Econometrics
  • COMP6730 Programming for Scientists
  • #EMET8014 Fundamentals of Econometric Methods

#To take EMET8014 in Y1 S1 you need to also take EMET8005 concurrently.

Any student undertaking the Graduate Certificate of Finance and Actuarial Statistics due to insufficient mathematics for the Master of Statistics should enrol in the following courses in Semester 2:

  1. MATH1113 Mathematical Foundations for Actuarial Studies
  2. STAT6038 Regression Modelling
  3. STAT7026 Graphical Data Analysis

and one course from the elective list*, e.g.,

  1. COMP6730 Programming for Scientists
