We are proud of our reputation for excellence in CBE internships and the academic programs that support it. In 2016, CBE Internships won the Silver Award (Oceania Region) at the Reimagine Education/QS Stars Awards, supported by QS and The Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania. CBE Internships also won the 2016 CBE Award for Excellence in Educational Innovation. Most recently, CBE was a finalist in the 2024 ANU VC’s Award for Excellence in Service, Innovation and Transformation.

Host an intern
CBE Internships offers industry collaborators the opportunity to host exceptional students.
About
A CBE Internship provides students with an opportunity to gain real-world experience through a workplace project. There are two options:
- 120 internship hours (for 6 units). This breaks down to 10 hours per week (1-2 days) over 12 weeks of semester.
- 240 internship hours (for 12 units). This breaks down to 20 hours per week (2-4 days) over 12 weeks of semester.
The course also includes practical workshops throughout the semester to prepare students for their internship and future careers.
The internship project has a strong focus on developing students’ employability in terms of their teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. Each intern will show evidence of competencies and skills acquired through close working relationships and collaboration with colleagues, a workplace supervisor and an academic advisor. The interns have ongoing support from the ANU Careers and Employability team (Business hub), the course convener, tutor and workplace supervisor from the host organisation.
