The ANU College of Business and Economics (CBE) is dedicated to ensuring our students are prepared to successfully navigate the professional landscape and meet the expectations of their future employers.
The CBE Careers Team works with industry to run this professional development initiative at ANU, called Momentum.
Through practical and theoretical opportunities, students build and develop industry-identified key skills and attributes to develop confident, work-ready, and competitive graduates and support a successful transition to the workplace.
Leadership, Communication, Critical Thinking and Problem-solving, Personal Brand, and Teamwork are the five research-based pillars that Momentum Workshops and one-on-one mentor training aim to develop in student mentees. Mentors and mentees alike can attend exclusive events to maximise their work-ready potential, evolve their personal strengths and focus their career goals.
Let’s build Momentum!

"Momentum is an opportunity to not only interact with and learn from business professionals, it is an opportunity to develop and better yourself. It provides you with the resources to consider your future and develop skills that will assist you in the workforce. It allowed me to build my confidence, realise potential career paths and develop my networking and communication skills...[I formed] valuable connections with my Momentum peers and mentors."
Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Arts
"Momentum is a great opportunity for students to access the knowledge and experience of established business leaders, and learn the lessons of those who have been there before.
[Momentum] is also a perfect opportunity for students to build their employability skills and professional networks before entering the full-time workforce."
