Global Business Immersion

The Global Business Immersion course (CBEA3066) provides an opportunity for students to understand the cultural and historical dimensions that shape business practice, and typically involves a visit of up to 11 days in one or more countries. The course emphasises personal and professional development in areas such as leadership, management, marketing, entrepreneurship and international business.

Students are selected to enrol in the course based on a competitive application process.

The 11-day program in Dubai will offer students the opportunity to gain knowledge of the tourism, finance, logistics, construction, and aviation industries. Argentina is the eighth largest country in the world and has the second largest economy in Latin America. Despite a history of economic instability, Argentina has a highly diversified economy that includes agribusiness, pharmaceuticals, energy, chemicals, design manufacturing, and well-developed service sectors.

The 11-day program in Argentina will be based in the vibrant capital of Buenos Aires. The study tour will also visit other towns and cities of economic or historical significance including Rosaria, Tigre, and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay. Students can expect to learn about the economic challenges facing Argentina, recent reforms, and the resilience of its business sector.

Germany is the world’s fourth largest economy, third largest exporter, and the most important economy in the Eurozone. Known for its manufacturing excellence and innovation, Germany dominates in industries such as machinery, motor vehicles, and chemicals.

The 11-day program in Germany will focus on the diverse cities of Berlin and Munich. It will offer students the opportunity to gain knowledge of Germany’s key industries, innovation culture, and approach to capitalism that differs from the Anglo-American model. Students can also expect to visit centres of political and historical significance that have shaped Germany’s identity and role in Europe. Learn more

Japan is a highly industrialised economy and Australia’s second largest two-way trading partner. In addition to having a close bilateral relationship with Australia, Japan is a major consumer of Australian resources and food commodities, and has increasingly become a popular tourist destination. 

The 11-day program in Japan will provide students an opportunity to visit firms in key manufacturing and services industries, and to learn about the economy more broadly. The study tour will focus on two cities – Tokyo, a key centre of global economic power; and Kyoto, considered Japan’s cultural capital. Students will experience a rich introduction to Japan’s economic, business, and cultural environments. Learn more
