The Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Institute is a global association of investment professionals, with more than 100 000 members in 135 countries and territories. The CFA Institute partners with leading institutions around the world who include a significant portion of CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge in their degree programs and embrace the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and standards of professional conduct.
ANU first became a CFA Program Partner in 2011 with the accreditation of the Bachelor of Finance with the Capital Markets major. In 2013 this partnership was extended to include the postgraduate Master of Finance program.
This development made The Australian National University one of only three Australian institutions (alongside the University of Melbourne and University of Technology Sydney) which offer CFA Institute accreditation at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels of study, providing greater flexibility and career development options for students.
Undergraduate
CFA Institute recognises the Bachelor of Finance with a major in Capital Markets at The Australian National University as a program partner. Recognition as a CFA Program Partner provides a signal to potential students, current students, and the marketplace that the university curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA exam.
Graduate
The Master of Finance is accredited as an official CFA Program Partner in recognition of the program's close ties to professional practice and that it provides good preparation for students intending to sit the CFA examinations.
ANU is part of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program that encourages students to seek CFA charter accreditation during their academic studies at the university. The CFA Institute University Affiliation Program offers unique benefits to ANU students including access to mock exam questions exclusive to Affiliated Universities and gaining access to professional development opportunities provided in conjunction with CFA Society Sydney and other key industry bodies. All currently enrolled ANU students are eligible to apply for the Student Scholarships that waive the one-time program enrollment fee and reduce the exam registration fee to US$350, which includes the access to the curriculum and all available study tools. The application for the Student Scholarship opens 1st September for the new academic year and closes towards end of September.
