This intake is open to international students only.

Students can apply through the ANU direct application portal once applications open on Monday 18 May 2026.

Students who already hold an offer for Semester 2, 2026 and are concerned they may not be able to arrive in time for the standard semester commencement can contact acceptance@anu.edu.au and we will be able to assist you.

1. Is the September 2026 intake suitable for students seeking credit transfer or for 2+2 pathway students? 

   No. The September intake is designed for students commencing and completing the program at ANU, commencing studies from the first year. The first session includes a fixed set of four compulsory subjects, which limits flexibility for credit transfer and articulation pathway arrangements.

2. How does commencing in this session sffect my program duration and Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)?

   Your program duration will be just under three years full time equivalent study, but overall your CoE will be for a slightly shorter time than if you were to commence in Semester 1 or 2, as your first session is condensed.

3. Will the September intake be available for A-Level students using predicted grades, given applications close on 20 July?

   Yes, we are happy to consider predicted results for GCE A Level applicants applying for the September intake. Predicted results must be on an official school letterhead and adhere to the other requirements listed at Assessment. 

4. If applications close on 20 July, will late applications be considered for UK A-Level students whose final results are released on 11 August?

   All applicants for the September intake must apply by the application deadline of 20 July 2026, meet all requirements and accept their offer by the deadline of 3 August 2026. This includes GCE A Level applicants. If these applicants receive their final A Level results on 11 August, they will need to apply based on their predicted results (see above).

5. Is an ELICOS program available for the September intake?

   No. The September intake is only available for students who already meet the ANU English language entry requirements at the time of application and acceptance. ELICOS pathways are not available for this intake.

1. How is studying in this session different to commencing in Semester 1 or 2? 

   The teaching period is condensed slightly, taking place over a total of ten weeks of learning activities instead of the usual twelve, with a shorter one-week study break in the middle.

2. What happens after I complete my first session?

   You will continue in Semester 1 2027 and through the rest of your program at a standard pace. Only your first session is condensed and scheduled outside of our standard semesters.

3. How do I enrol in courses?

   For students commencing in this intake, you will be contacted to organise a meeting with Student Advisor. They will assist you with your enrolment. 

4. How will this cohort of new students be supported to undertake the demanding condensed learning module while transitioning to the new university life in a foreign country? 

   The September intake is delivered in a slightly condensed format, with a 10-week teaching semester and a one-week session break. ANU provides a wide range of academic support services, and CBE will deliver additional transition and academic support activities during Orientation Week to assist students in adapting to university study and life at ANU. 

5. What is the latest arrival date for students?

   All students are expected to arrive in Canberra prior to the commencement of classes on 14 September 2026. 6. What orientation activities will be offered?

   In-person orientation activities for this intake will be scheduled for September, planned for the week beginning 14 September 2026. Detailed dates and times will be confirmed nearer to September. These sessions will give students the opportunity to connect with their cohort and gain an introduction to their program, Academic College, and the support services offered at ANU.

7. When will lecture and tutorial timetables be available?

   Lecture and tutorial timetables will be released closer to the commencement date of the September intake.

8. Can students transfer to another degree program after completing the first study period, with credits recognised? 

   These students may apply for program transfer and/or credit, following usual university processes.

1. How can students travel from Canberra Airport to the ANU Acton campus?

   There are several ways to travel from Canberra Airport to campus, including by taxi, rideshare and bus. The ANU Canberra Airport Pick‑Up Service will not be available for this cohort, as their arrival will fall outside the scheduled service dates for the second half of 2026. 

2. What pre-arrival information will be provided?

   A pre-arrival online information session will be offered to the September intake, with the exact date and time to be communicated closer to their arrival. This session is intended to help them prepare for ANU and will cover topics such as student administration, international student requirements, and accommodation.

All applicants for the September intake will be considered for applicable scholarships, subject to meeting the relevant eligibility requirements and scholarship criteria.

1. How do I apply for accommodation?

   You can apply for on-campus accommodation through our accommodation portal. Please apply through the Semester 2 pathway and request an arrival date before the commencement of your program. If you want to arrive early, you are welcome to check in any time from July.

2. What is the length of the accommodation contract?

   Your contract will start from the date you arrive and end on the Semester 2 contract end date for your residence.

3. Can I roll over my accommodation contract to Semester 1 2027?

   You will be able to apply for accommodation for 2027 through the accommodation portal from September. Our Residential Services team can help with your accommodation arrangements, including over summer.

4. Is guaranteed accommodation available for this intake? What are the accommodation application deadlines and key dates?

   Students in the September intake will be guaranteed an accommodation offer. However, students may not receive their first preference of residence, depending on room availability at the time of application. The ANU Accommodation team will continue making offers up until the commencement of the intake. Accommodation applications are typically processed within a few business days.
