Lucy Hu – Award for Teaching Excellence

Lucy has taught a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate students, demonstrating enthusiasm and a commitment to the development of their academic and professional skills. Lucy uses her up-to-date knowledge to deliver innovative and interactive lectures and workshops. Her teaching philosophy involves using a holistic learning approach to help students construct a critical thinking framework for analysing real-life cases and making connections across different subjects.

Associate Professor Wai-Man (Raymond) Liu – Award for Teaching Excellence

ANU Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics

Raymond has taught market microstructure for more than a decade. He is an advocate of holistic learning and uses multimodal teaching delivery to enhance students’ learning experience and critical thinking. He has introduced a real-time simulated trading game that emulates the Australian Securities Exchange trading environment, and an innovative and dynamic oral hurdle assessment for teaching effective communication.

Leo Huang – Award for Excellence in Tutoring

Leo has been tutoring actuarial and statistics courses at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels since 2019. Armed with a profound understanding of the course content and a passion for tutoring, he uses cutting-edge technology to deliver complex actuarial concepts without losing the human element.

Dr Lijuan (Lily) Zhang ­– Award for Excellence in Research Supervision

Since 2014, Lily has demonstrated exemplary supervision by successfully guiding and mentoring 14 research students across diverse academic levels. Lily’s PhD students have achieved publications at A* journals at early year of their PhD studies. A cornerstone of Lily’s supervision approach is recognising the individuality of each student, tailoring supervision methods to amplify their strengths while overcoming specific challenges.

William Lim – Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning

William's teaching philosophy is deeply influenced by authentic learning. He believes that students learn best when placed within authentic contexts that reflect the way knowledge is applied in real life. Consequently, his course materials are imbued with current industry best practices and realistic case studies, keeping students engaged throughout the semester.

ANU Management Program in partnership with the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) – Award for Excellence in Indigenous Education and Award for Programs that Enhance Learning

The ANU Management Program is a bespoke training program for First Nations employees in the Australian Public Service (APS). It redresses a past lack of educational opportunities contributing to the under-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in leadership roles within the APS. Through a meaningful and continuous co-creation process with the NIAA as the lead partner, a team of award-winning academics and professionals in the ANU Research School of Management, the ANU College of Business and Economics, and the ANU College of Law have delivered three intakes since 2021, with the fourth intake that commenced in February 2024. Acclaimed for its academic rigor and well-rounded support mechanisms, the NIAA program has provided participants, many without previous university experience, with the best possible chance of success for future career prospects through internal promotions, cross-APS jobs, and further studies, and with a remarkable growth in their self-confidence, critical thinking and communication skills.
