Associate Professor Idione Meneghel from The Australian National University (ANU) has been appointed Co-editor of the Journal of Mathematical Economics (JME). Idione has served on the board of editors as an associate editor since 2017.
JME was founded by Gerard Debreu, winner of the 1983 Nobel Prize in Economics, as a forum for the introduction of mathematical techniques in economics. It is a peak journal in in the field and an important interface between Mathematics and Economic Theory.
A lecturer in Microeconomic Theory and Advanced Behavioural Economics, Idione works in the ANU College of Business and Economics Research School of Economics (RSE). Her research interests include game theory, decision theory, auction theory, and the theory of mechanism design, with a particular focus on the existence of equilibrium in games with imperfect information, and games with payoffs that lack the usual continuity properties, such as auctions.
Idione’s work has appeared in top peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of Economic Theory, Theoretical Economics, and Econometrica. She held a Visiting position at the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics at Yale University.
