Abstract
The global trend of rapidly aging workforces is occurring concurrently as work-family concerns have become widespread. Yet research on the relationship between age and the work-family interface (i.e., work-family conflict, work-family enrichment, and work-family balance) has been fragmented throughout different literatures. We build on socioemotional selectivity theory, a psychological lifespan theory, and integrate life course factors (age cohort, gender, occupational status, race, marital status, etc.) to examine how these variables are related to the work-family interface.
