Last night, four academics from the ANU College of Business and Economics (CBE) were the recipients of the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence in Education.
As an institution for learning, The Australian National University (ANU) is committed to encouraging and rewarding excellence in teaching through these annual awards.
Dr Timo Henckel from the College’s Research School of Economics (RSE) was one the three academics to receive the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence.
Professor Susanna Ho from the Research School of Accounting (RSA) and Dr Tao Zou from the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics (RSFAS) were among the five ANU academics awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning. Dr Zou was the award’s recipient from the Early Career category.
RSA’s Ms Helen Ping was recognised for her contributions in the Award for Excellence in Tutoring.
Dr Katerina Kormusheva from the Research School of Management (RSM) was formally acknowledged as an ANU recipient of the 2019 Australian Award for University Teaching Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning (Early Career).
Congratulating the recipients and CBE academics Dr Gen Nowak and Mr Chen Tang, who were strong candidates for the Teaching Awards, Dr Bronwen Whiting, CBE’s Associate Dean (Education), says “With so many brilliant teachers across campus, being nominated for these awards is an indication of how engaging students find these teachers."
“All nominees have been recognised as providing an excellent experience for students, even among all the wonderful teachers at ANU. That there were so many CBE winners is a wonderful signal that teaching is highly valued within CBE, and that CBE students have access to some of the very best lecturers and tutors at ANU,” says Bronwen.
