Biography

Xiangru Qin is a sessional academic and final-year PhD candidate at the Research School of Management, College of Business and Economics, the Australian National University. Her academic journey spans interdisciplinary training in business, innovation and strategic management, underpinned by a strong commitment to advancing sustainable and innovative practices in organisational contexts.

Xiangru’s doctoral research explores how green innovation is implemented in small and service-based organisations. Her work contributes both theoretical insights and practical implications for organisations addressing environmental challenges. Prior to her doctoral program, she earned a Master’s degree in Tourism Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Event Management from Sun Yat-sen University, China. Her work has been published in several peer-reviewed and leading academic journals, including Journal of Management (FT50, ABDC - A*), Journal of Travel Research (ABDC - A*), and Journal of Sustainable Tourism (ABDC - A*).

In addition to her research, Xiangru is actively engaged in teaching services. She has served as a sessional academic in undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Entrepreneurship & Innovation and Research Methods. Her teaching approach is informed by her research expertise and a strong dedication to student-centred learning.
