Biography

Harriet Elvin embarked on academic research in 2023 following a career leading arts organisations, including theatres, museums, art galleries, and historic sites. Her achievements in this field have been recognised through numerous awards, including : Member of the Order of Australia (AM); Centenary Medal for service to Australian society in business leadership; Selection as one of the 100 inspiring women in Canberra's history in the UN Women's 100 years 100 women initiative; induction into the ANU College of Business and Economics Alumni Hall of Fame; and 2001 Telstra ACT Businesswoman of the Year.

Education Awards

  • 1997 : Awarded all three prizes offered by the ANU MBA Program: Westpac Banking Corporation Prize for highest overall result and leadership; Pauline Griffin Prize for highest result in International Human Resource Management; and Blake Dawson Waldren Prize (jointly awarded) for highest result in Legal Framework of Business in the Asia-Pacific  
  • 1979-83 : Prizes at Cambridge : Exhibition (Scholarship) to Christ’s College Cambridge; Carr Book Prize; Henry Arthur Thomas Travelling Scholarship
