Silvia is a Lecturer in Information Systems (IS) with a particular interest in digital transformation and innovation, specifically related to the usage of emerging digital technologies (including but not limited to blockchain, cryptocurrency, platforms, and artificial intelligence).
Currently, she is engaged in a research project about artificial intelligence and its related impacts.
Prior to joining academia, she worked professionally as a business process integration specialist, enterprise systems (SAP) functional analyst, and project manager to deliver best practices solutions within financial management and costing, procurement, production systems, and material management.
Her PhD thesis at the University of Queensland was nominated for the Australian Council of Professors and Heads of Information Systems (ACPHIS) 2022 - Best Doctoral Thesis Award.
Her research to date has been published in high-ranking journals, including the Journal of the Association for Information Systems (forthcoming, ABDC A*, IS Senior Scholars' List of Premier Journals), Journal of Business Research (ABDC A), and peer-reviewed top IS conferences at the European Conference on Information Systems, and presented at Naples Forum on Service Conference.
