Supplementary Examinations Procedure
This paper outlines the procedures to apply in respect of Supplementary
Examinations in the College of Business and Economics. The procedures are
to be read in conjunction with the
Examinations Rules 2006.
- Individual Chairs of Examiners will determine a candidate’s eligibility
for a supplementary examination.
- The Chair of Examiners will return a result of PX on the Unit Result Sheet
for eligible candidates.
- Eligible candidates who have accepted the offer of a supplementary
examination in writing within seven working days from the date of the official
publication of results will be informed in writing by the School of the time
and place for the supplementary examination.
- The notice in writing to eligible candidates will be sent by Schools
within ten working days from the official publication of results.
- Individual staff members may wish to provide assistance to eligible
candidates. Alternatively, Schools may wish to establish a School-wide policy
on this matter.
- The Chair of Examiners is responsible for returning an amended result in
relation to supplementary examination candidates.
- Eligible candidates who pass the supplementary examination will be awarded
the result PS (50).
- Eligible candidates who fail or do not attempt the supplementary
examination will be awarded the grade of fail and receive the mark obtained
prior to the supplementary examination.
- Schools must transmit all supplementary examination results to the College Office within 20 working days from the official publication of results.
